A deck of cards is spread faces to the spectator. The performer NEVER looks at the faces. The spectator names her birthday, and the performer sets one card down sight unseen – even by him. If you prefer, the spectator herself can cut or take a card and set it aside.

The performer mentions how personality types and cards often go together. He may do a reading at this point if desired, or skip it if he does not wish to do so.

A large, full-color chart that has been sitting on the table the entire time is opened by the spectator. She finds her birth date, and notes which card is listed as "her special card" on that day. Sure enough, this very card is the one she selected, or the performer set aside sight unseen.
