Empathy allows you to make powerful mentalism effects. It brings together the strength of divinations of words as in a booktest, the impact of duplications of drawings, but also offers you the ability to feel the emotions experienced by spectators … All this with a simple tool that holds in your pocket and that you can always have on you: a pack of cards.

Empathy comes in the form of cards created by a university research laboratory in psychology, in order to test the emotional reactivity of subjects.

You have around fifty cards, each containing different words likely to trigger different emotions. There are all hundred different words in the game in all and you can show that all the cards are very different.

Once the game is mixed, the participant freely chooses a card and is invited to focus on one or more words it contains.

You will then be able, without asking the slightest question, to reveal the emotions and sensations felt by the spectator, to guess precisely the chosen words (s) but also to reproduce, in the form of a drawing, the participant’s thoughts.

You can make many successive revelations and even read in the thoughts of several spectators at the same time.
