Alex LeFanu Interview
The effects themselves:
Clever mathematical principles at work.
De-Code
Another way at looking at being able to unlock someones phone. Basically, you divine their unlock code. Uses 2 principles layered together to create the perfect addition to a pin code divination.
I already use, I UNLOCK YOUR MIND(app), Peter Turners pin code divination, but this is just another tool to be able to add to your existing toolbox of knowledge in case of a repeat performance
I will be adding this to my toolbox
PsychoMatrix
After a few calculations are made on a smartphone, one thought of number is selected by the participant secretly, and the mentalist makes a list of items for the participant to choose from.
At the end, you tell the participant the object, what it is made of, and color that the person has in mind.
This reminded me a lot of Mental Yarn, for those that know that routine, this is similar in nature, though presentation is different.
This effect I will not be performing, since though the original Mental Yarn is good, doesn't suit me in my performances.
What I did like is the Bonus variation that is offered with this effect, to be able to do a Living and Dead Test, that was nice.
PsychoStage
A list of 10 or so items are made, on business cards, and then the spectators decide whether for you to deal or switch the cards, at the end the order was already predicted by the mentalist.
There have been several effects that are similar in nature to this, but this has the freedom that you can create it impromptu on the spot. You don't have to use playing cards.
The version I have done in the past, that I don't use anymore, is Paul Vigils Sympathy for the Devil. For those of you that have that, this is something like that, but with everyday props, and can be done on the fly.
Good effect, though since I don't perform Sympathy anymore, I will not be performing this, but the main principle behind it is good, and I like the fact that you will be able to set it up to go anytime.
The Invisible Force
This is a great forcing technique that you can use with either a smartphone or even on a piece of paper, if someone is good at math.
I would recommend using a calculator for this. You get around 4-5 people involved in the very fair process of doing some basic math, and at the end with a total in mind, all numbers but one are discarded, and you can instantly know this thought of number.
Heck, I even have an idea to make this effect even better, and you can take this to different levels......more on this later when you get the book
Great mathematical principle you will learn, and you will be able to predict a thought of digit at the end, when it seems impossible.
I will be adding this to my repertoire.
En-Code
Use the Invisible Force principle above to be able for spectators to unlock your phone.
Good use of the force explained above, similar to spectator as mind reader
The Thought of Card of The Good Actor
Truth-Teller and Liar, and thought of playing card, and mentalist deduces card as well as whether they were lying or telling the truth
Good routine, doesn't fit my personal style, so I will not be using this. if you are a fan of the liar/truthteller plot you might like this.
The Gamblers ACAAN
Using the liar truthteller plot from above, an imaginary game of ACAAN, becomes reality.
Great patter and scripting.
I already have several ACAANs that I am doing, like The Crusade, and my Intuition ACAAN, so this will not be added to my repertoire.
ISWAMI by Michael Murray
This was originally in his Calculated Risk Plus book, but you get it here.
Basically, you can give the impression on being able to predict any number from 1-100.
I have been using this to great success, I am glad that it was included in this release
Total Recall by Michael Murray
Michael is a friend, and a genius, he comes up with things that one would think, how on earth, did he think of that.
You can use the principle that Michael will teach you here for a PIN reveal, or just the number, whatever you want to do, your imagination is the key.
Well, there you have it folks, a good release by Luca & Alex LeFanu
