Description

René Lavand was one of the true artists in the world of Close-Up Magic. His presentations and performances have a poetic and artistic quality to them that never fail to earn standing ovations.

One of his two signature routines was his rendition of the oil and water plot titled “It Can’t Be Done Any Slower.” He often used this routine as an opener, closer or even as a stand-alone act. It is also considered the highlight of World’s Greatest Magic II television special where he performed it.

The basic routine uses six cards. Three red number cards and three black picture cards. The cards are continuously mixed in a red black order and immediately separate into reds and blacks. This is repeated several times in slower, more deliberate and impossible seeming conditions. Also taught is Rene’s One-Hand Double Lift, One-Hand Second Deal, and his One-Hand Third Deal.
