The cards they are looking for always show up again and again in places they assemble. Everything can then be distributed for inspection. This is a three-card Monte effect that involves impossible transpositions that your spectators have to see to believe.

What happens is as follows:

The magician shares with the spectator the Three Card Monte card game which uses a pair of threes and the Queen of Hearts. The first two phases of the process feature asymmetrical transpositions (one card becomes two) and dazzling visual transformations in which playing cards seem to jump from one hand to the other as if by magic. Closer to home, the three of hearts is fairly set aside and the queen of hearts and the three of clubs are openly placed in a small envelope. Impossibly, without any movement, the 3 of hearts was found in the envelope and the queen was found sitting at the table from the start.
